You Cant Handle the Truth!

What should both parties be optimizing for? How is everyone invovled going to reach the potential they are looking for? How is society going to reach its potential? Who should lead the process for crafting and closing the deal?

Determine the Process and Landscape for Negotiating

What is the process for negotiating? Is a contract involved? What are the important deal points like price, contract length, payment terms, and the mechanics such as, will you use an e-signature tool or will the contract be signed in person? Questions like, who is the signer and decision maker, and what do they want out of the deal?

Can You Win and Get the Deal Done

If you cant answer those questions and you are not able to win the deal without lying, cheating, or stealing then you have no business negotiating. You are underqualified to get the deal done and you should walk away. If your goal is to not make a deal, then at the very least make a different deal by leaving the right impression with all the parties involved.
